Process Control Systems (SCAP)

The Research Center was established in 2001 under the name “Advanced Control Systems of the Processes (RC-SCAP)" within the Faculty of Computers, Automation, Electric and Electronics Engineering, Department of Automation and Electrical Engineering. This center was accredited at national level in 2001 based on the Recognition Certificate No. 35/CC-C of 11V-2001 issued by C.N.C.S.I.S. Currently RC-SCAP Center is institutionally accredited and operates with the name Process Control Systems (SCAP).

The RDI activities are carried out in the fundamental field of ENGINEERING SCIENCES, correlated to the field of intelligent specialization in Modelling and Control, as follows:

  1. Non-linear control of the processes with two research directions: a) modeling, identification and control of bioprocesses and b) robot modeling and control.
  2. Discreet optimizations (control and optimization of the discrete event processes).

In the field of generating INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR THE PUBLIC SECTOR, the Center's RDI activities focus on the priority areas:

  1. INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY. SPACE AND SECURITY
  2. ENERGY, ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE CHANGE
