Infrastructure for Environmental Interdisciplinary Research in Lower Danube Euroregion (INPOLDE)

The research unit INPOLDE was established in 2014, in the frame of the project with code MIS ETC 1676 financed from ENPI funds, Joint Operational Programme Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova “Cross-border interdisciplinary cooperation for the prevention of natural disasters and mitigation of environmental pollution in Lower Danube Euroregion” (http://www.inpolde.ugal.ro/), implemented in the period between 19.12.2013-31.12.2015, beneficiary ”Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati (UDJG), functioning in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Sciences and Environment. According to Senate Decision HS No. 46 from 16.02.2018, the unit was proposed for institutional accreditation and as excellence reasearch unit. Starting with 18.09.2018 it has become a part of the ReForm-UDJG multidisciplinary research platform.

The infrastructure of INPOLDE laboratories, connected with research equipment purchased by partner institutions in the project MIS ETC 1676 from Republic of Moldova and Ukraine (Institute of Zoology, Academy of Sciences of Moldova; Institute of Geology and Seismology, Academy of Sciences of Moldova; Scientific Research Institution “Ukrainian Scientific Centre of Ecology of the Sea” (SRI UkrSCES)), being used for joint interdisciplinary research in the domains of environmental protection and ecotechnologies. According to the address no. 12383/14.05.2019, the laboratories of Institute of Zoology, Chisinau, R. Moldova (Laboratory of Hydrobiology and Ecotoxicology; Laboratory of Ichtiology and Acquaculture) are officially part of INPOLDE Center at UDJG.

The RDI activities carried out in the frame of INPOLDE laboratories are in correspondence with the following domains of intelligent specializations established by the national strategy:

  2. Eco-Nano-Technologies and Advanced Materials

and are focused on the priority areas:

  1. Health
  2. New and Emergent Technologies
